About This Phone

The AT&T Picturephone was a pioneering 1960s-70s videophone service, famously unveiled at the 1964 New York World’s Fair, that allowed users to see and hear each other. Despite high hopes, the service failed due to exorbitant costs, poor black-and-white video quality, and lack of consumer interest.
