About The Model S62
The Siemens AUSO S62 is a classic Italian rotary dial telephone, famously known as the "Bigrigio" (double-gray). Designed by Lino Saltini in 1962, it became the standard telephone for the Italian national operator SIP (now TIM) throughout the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. Later editions were produced in vibrant colors like red, orange, green, and yellow. It is considered an icon of mid-century Italian industrial design.
