About This Phone
This is the Système Louis Pasquet (also known as the "Pasquet Model"), a significant telephone in the history of the French state-run PTT (Poste, Télégraphe et Téléphone). Introduced around 1902 and manufactured throughout the early 1900s, this model represented an early effort by the French government to standardize telephone equipment. These phones were typically made of walnut wood and were produced for the PTT by various manufacturers, such as the Société Industrielle des Téléphones. They are easily identified by their distinct wooden cabinet design and often featured a transmitter on the front with receivers hanging on the sides.
