Jubilee telephone with external ringer box, made by the Post Office, Cwmbran Wales, 1977. The Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977 marked the effective start of a move away from a single standard design of telephones. It was the first telephone designed and manufactured by the Post Office. It was designed in 'Balmoral blue,' and was not popular, as it looked old-fashioned.
