LeichLeich1907–1950Formed from the merger of Eureka Electric Company and Advance Electric Company, both originally of McCordsville, Indiana. The combined operation relocated to Genoa, Illinois in 1903 and was reorganized in 1907 as Cracraft-Leich Electric Company by J.P. Cracraft, Oscar W. Leich, V.A. Messenger, and Sidney Stein. Renamed Leich Electric in 1917, the company's first job under its new name was producing telephones for the U.S. government during WWI. During WWII, Leich was one of eight manufacturers of the EE-8 field telephone for the Army Signal Corps.
