Elbert Hubbard founded the community in 1895, in the village of East Aurora, New York, near Buffalo. Participants were known as Roycrofters. Made of copper in the "hammered copper" arts and crafts style of the Roycroft Shops. They specialized in other arts and crafts objects, but presumably made this phone to be used in an arts and crafts room. Circa 1910.
