SafnatSafnatSocietà Anonima Fabbrica Nazionale Apparecchi Telefonici, founded in 1921 in Milan at Via Garofalo 31. Safnat manufactured telephones and switching equipment for the Italian market, becoming an official supplier to SIP, the Italian state telephone monopoly, in 1965. The company is best known for the 2+7 multiline telephone designed in 1958 by Marcello Nizzoli — famed for his Olivetti Lettera 22 typewriter — and G. Mario Olivieri, an elegant functionalist design now held by the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.
