Standard Telephone Rope Shaft

About This Phone

This is a very rare and very beautiful Standard Telephone & Electric rope shaft on a large round wooden base. Extra tall candlestick with name tag on the base, steerhorn switch hook, and rare marked Standard outside terminal long pole receiver. Please see the original ad from the July 4th, 1896 The Electrical World magazine. The Standard telephone in the ad is a slightly earlier version because it uses a watch case receiver, but it is the identical telephone that would later hold the long pole receiver you see on this candlestick.
