About This Phone
Stromberg-Carlson "flip top" desk stand with unique transmitter and switch hook that, when the receiver was removed, would flip down for the caller to speak into. It's been said that this Stromberg-Carlson design was created to get around Bell's switch hook patent that was set to expire in 1894. The coil and wires are in the base but no base plate. Single scan from a Stromberg catalog in 1896.
