About This Phone

This was the most common wall telephone used by the National Telephone Company after 1900 for central battery telephone exchanges, where electrical power for both signalling and speaking was obtained from a battery at the exchange. It used a 'solid-black' microphone. Likely produced in Antwerp, Belgium.
