North ElectricNorth ElectricFounded in 1884 in Cleveland, Ohio by Charles N. North and George Drumheller, both former linemen for the Cleveland Telephone Company. The company relocated to Galion, Ohio, where it manufactured telephones and switching equipment for the independent (non-Bell) telephone market. Notable for building most components in-house, North Electric produced potbelly desk sets, the H6 "Galion" bakelite phone (a competitor to the Western Electric 302), and manufactured the Ericofon under license from L.M.
